It’s great anytime to browse through the art collection of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, but it’s especially fun when you use graphics in your own projects, and you can find things by master artists that you love and GET TO HAVE.
The Met has made available for use without restrictions more than 406,000 works of art in its collection. Its Open Access page shares interesting info about the program and a link to the public domain collection. The FAQ answers all your questions.
To find something specific, go to the art collection’s “search” page and click the “Open Access” box to filter; then do your search.
You may be surprised at how many world-class — and world-famous — works of art are available for your use. Have fun browsing, but remember to stop at some point! If you can.
