Ba‘al Hadad (Lord Hadad) (also known as Hadad, Haddad, Haddu, and Adad) is the Semitic god of the sky, storms, and rain. He is sometimes said to be the son of Dagon, son of the high god El, who tells him he will have to destroy his brother Yam if he wants his power to be secure.
After his victory, he is given the title Rider on the Clouds, which is also used to refer to Yahweh in the Bible :
Psalms 68:4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds — his name is the LORD — and rejoice before him. (New International Version)
